Christmas Concert Program 2015

Event details

To sing is to pray twice.

“The Providence Academy sings Emmanuel with our ‘Common Home’”. This was the title of the 2015 Christmas concert inspired by “Laudato Si” of Pope Francis.

“The eyes of your children will light up as they search for your smiling faces. It is then that you will live the most beautiful Christmas, that of love and joy.” It is with these words that Mrs. Samira S. addressed the parents. “At the door of the church, she added, you received a yellow, white or purple paper color that symbolize the 3 gifts brought by the Magi. On your paper, please write your particular intention which will be your prayer for today. The sixth graders will collect them. Three parents will present them to the infant Jesus in the manger. Throughout the concert, the teachers will read the petitions of the students which will be placed in the puzzle that constitute the manger. May God answer your prayers and ours!” The petitions of the parents, introduced by those of the Academy director who highlighted the action of grace and praise, in their 65 versions, which symbolized the royalty of Christ (Melchior’s gold) as well as His divinity (Gaspar’s incense) and His passion (Balthazar’s myrrh), centered around invoking blessings for oneself, one’s family, children, the sick and the poor to face the difficulties of life and for peace in our endangered world.

Thanks to Father Fredette for his kind welcome! May the Divine Child watch over St. Sebastien Parish and our Academy family, and shower us with graces of hope, joy and peace!
