Christmas Village and Mass with 2021 features

Event details

Christmas Village

In a festive and joyful atmosphere and due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its highly communicable Omicron variant, students, with strict adherence to health security measures, celebrated the “Christmas Village”. The Christmas Mass in two different times of the week of December 20, 2021 succeeded this happy event in which the parents participated virtually.

So soft is the light that dissipates the night. The Lord of the earth comes to join our lives. So tender is the mystery on this fulfilled day: The Word is light before Mary’s eyes served as an entrance song in which the assembly had to participate silently. The word of God which some of the students had to share was an excerpt from Book 9 of the Prophet Isaiah, “The people who walked in darkness saw a great light rise, and upon the inhabitants of the land of darkness a light shone…”.

In our Christmas Village, the classes were metamorphosed into various workshops. The Junior Kindergarten class was transformed into a dance class filled with engineers who constructed their special Christmas room, while the Senior Kindergarten class became the house of Mary and a little stable to welcome the baby Jesus. The cycle two classes were filled with craft makers and actors in a Chinese theater, while the cycle three students were preparing the elegant Christmas table and sharing the images of God from Genesis to Revelation. We ended our Village with some Christmas experiments done by the cycle 4 students and a tour to more than 20 countries to see how each country celebrated Christmas in its own tradition.

Bravo for the beautiful presentations of the Christmas Village! Many thanks to Father Georges Antabi for his insightful homily and his administration of the sacrament of Penance! Thank you to Sr Nisrine and the teaching team for the joyful Christmas atmosphere, and to the students for their pious participation and liturgical service. May their prayers be answered by the Divine Child who was born to give us life and light! All the blessings of this Christmas season and Happy New Year full of hope and health!
