Thanksgiving Day Celebration 2019

Event details

Giving thanks and learning to live a life of Thanksgiving was the objective of the “Thanksgiving Day” celebration, an event that has become a tradition at the Providence Academy:

“Here, Lord, the offerings that we, your children, present to thank you for all your blessings. Accept tender Father, the fruits of the earth that we bring to this table. Thank you for our daily bread! Help us to be generous to those who are less fortunate than us! Thank you for the family you gave us, for those important and special people who love us! We are grateful to you. We thank you for this beautiful country Canada, where it is good to live. Thank you for the peace that reigns here! We thank you for our friends who play with us, talk to us and accept us as we are. We are infinitely grateful for the beautiful family that is Providence Academy. Thank you for all those people who listen to us, teach us and help us to become a better person! The greatest thank you Lord, God, is the gift of your son Jesus who loves us so much that he came to this earth to teach us to love and to hope. ”

These words were the students’ prayers for the presentation of the offerings during the mass celebration presided over by the Reverend Father Jean-Pierre Fredette at the Saint Sebastian Church and attended by the Providence family and parishioners.

The mass, which took place on Friday, October 11, was followed by a shared snack, held harmoniously in the hall of the Academy, thanks to the generosity of the parents and the gracious service of the teaching team. The snack began by giving thanks to the rhythm of the French song « Merci mille fois merci, pour tout ce qui vient de toi et pour tout ce je reçois, merci! »

Many thanks to Father Fredette for his kindness and to the parents for their generosity! Big thank to the administration team for the beautiful decoration and to the teaching team for this moment of beauty, sharing and thanks!
