Orateurs en devenir • Speakers in the making 2015

Event details

To improve the skill of public speaking, to promote self-confidence and to develop the speaker’s image while respecting their own style.

Save the planet and celebrate the beauty of creation through productions, skits, artistic works and writings of famous authors, such was the objective of our “speakers in the making”. The teaching staff took the care of integrating this objective to those of the public speaking. They had considered essentially “the improvement of public speaking in students, the development of self-confidence and the making of their oratorical image in accordance with their own style “. That was done through the various activities in English, Arabic, or Spanish, in addition to the French that predominated in the various presentations.

“Do you know that grade 3 students are poets? The creations that they will present to us will surprise you.” This is how Nicholas presented the students in this class who had composed their poems about nature, the pleasures of its seasons and its creatures.

Grades 4 and 5 students had to present a skit in which humans become aware of the importance of nature that must be preserved for the survival of the species, next to personal productions on nature, our mother and the duty to save and take good care of it: “Take care of the environment and promise to keep it alive. Don’t upset Mother Nature or else we’ll have no place to thrive. Take a look at the good life of Pope Francis the great. Respect what we have and act before it is too late” was the quote that Ivan inserted in his presentation of this group.

“The sixth graders chose to celebrate the beauty of the world through artistic works, hymns sung by the greatest thinkers and poets defenders of nature, and paintings by famous artists. These works and writings all have in common an excessive love for nature.” Jason used these words to present grade 6 students and to draw the attention of the audience on extracts of their research or their production to tell us how, together, we will be able to collaborate to safeguard the planet.

Thank you to the educational team and to our “Emerging Speakers” for all the efforts put in the preparation and during the show and a sincere congratulation for its success!
